W2G Publishing Selected to Carry Forward Legacy of Acclaimed Dville Press Imprint
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – June 30, 2026 – Award-winning Louisiana author and historian Mary Gehman has entrusted W2G Publishing with the future of her esteemed Dville Press imprint, ensuring the continued publication and preservation of important works focused on Louisiana history and culture.
Gehman, a longtime resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, established Dville Press in 2017 following more than three decades of operating Margaret Media. The independent press specialized in works by Louisiana authors and on Louisiana-related topics, releasing a dozen titles. Among its notable publications are reprints of Gehman’s own acclaimed books, Women and New Orleans: A History and The Free People of Color of New Orleans: An Introduction.
A respected independent scholar, Gehman has earned multiple honors for her significant contributions to documenting and preserving Creole and Louisiana history. Her accolades include the Founders Award from LA Creole and the Mayor’s Special Day of Honor from the City of New Orleans.
Gehman remains actively engaged in writing and research. She is currently authoring a book examining the Louisiana Creole migration to Mexico during the mid-to-late 1800s.
“We at W2G Publishing are deeply humbled and honored to have been chosen by Mary Gehman to steward the legacy of Dville Press,” said a W2G Publishing representative. “We are committed to upholding the high standards of scholarship and storytelling that have defined her work and will continue to bring vital Louisiana voices and histories to readers.”
