What is MDIA?
A mobile Web App that provides real time, important data about your district to your parents, teachers, students, and the community. It is designed for mobile smart phones, but works well with PCs, Tablets, iPads and iPod Touch. It requires a device with a true web browser and either 3G or WiFi connectivity. It does not require Flash, even for video.

What is a Web App vs. a regular phone App?

An App is a special program specifically written for a Phone, an iPod or a Tablet. Each version of the App has to be rewritten for each device.
A Web App is a special website designed specifically to work well on phones, iPods and Tablets.
The main benefit of a true App is that, if you happen to be out of range of your network or wireless coverage, some data in the App would still be available.

But, there are many reasons why MDIA is better as a Web App:

- There is nothing to download or update or sync.
- Producing native iPhone / Android / Blackberry / Palm / Windows 7 Phone native Apps all have costs and headaches to creating them.
- By making a Web App, as we add functionality, that functionality is
instantly available to every one of your users. If we fix a bug, it is instantly fixed for everyone!
[If we made an actual App, we would have to send any changes to the App Store, and wait for it to get approved and posted.]
- For every change we make to an App, users would have to download a new version of the App.
- Some Apps work only with newer phones, and they just won’t work on older phones.
- All your most current District data is stored on the Internet anyway, not locked into an App. So, even if we made a native App, it would still have to be on the Internet to download the latest data.

Do I need more than one copy (or version) of this tool?
No! The tool automatically figures out what kind of device you are using (PC, iPad, Android phone, etc.) and adjusts the screen to match your device.

What devices do this tool work on?
Generally, MDIA works on any mobile phone that has a full web browser, with a screen at least 320 pixels wide. It also works on computers, tablets and iPod Touch. This includes iPhones and iPod Touch, Android Phones, PCs Macs and Netbooks, and Tablets (iPad and Android Tablets).

Because we use only standard Web protocols and NO additional plug-ins, MDIA will run on almost any device with a Web Browser.

See the list of tested devices below.

How much does the MDIA App cost for my district?
Prices vary. Contact us for details, at
sales@write2grow.org.
Note prices are for a single school or district. Multiple schools cannot be managed under a single mobile App unless a District license is purchased.
